Hazel Daly, Tóchar Community Engagement Officer, was delighted to welcome students from Coralstown National School to the Bog Bothy in Milltownpass for a series of place-based wetlands learning workshops on May 8th 2026.

Through hands-on activities in their local environment, the students explored the importance of wetlands, biodiversity and caring for nature, while developing a deeper connection to the landscapes around them. By engaging young people with their local environment from an early age, place-based learning helps foster curiosity, environmental stewardship and the knowledge needed to protect these valuable ecosystems into the future.
