Bog Bothy on Tour – Expression of Interest Information Session

The Bog Bothy is a shelter designed as part of a Climate Action project by the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) and 12th Field Architecture https://reimagine.iaf.ie/fieldwork/bog-bothy/ . It has already visited Clara Bog in Offaly and Girley Bog in Meath as part of its original run.

In 2026, Tóchar with IAF and 12th Field are collaborating to bring the Bothy to new communities who would like to host it. The expression of interest call from groups and communities who have strong connections to their local bog or wetland is currently open – please click here for the expression of interest form.

An online information session for on this call took place on Januaury 23rd. If you missed this session it is available to view here. This session provides valuable information on this initiative and will answer queries in relation to funding, activities in the Bothy, community involvement and will aid greatly in the completion of the expression of interest form.

Closing date for the submission of the expression of interest is February 6, 2026.

If you require further information with regard to the form or the Bothy please feel free to contact Dean Black in the IAF dean.b lack@iaf.ie or tocharwetlands@npws.gov.ie
